David Coletto

As the CEO of Abacus Data, David manages the day to day operations and leads Abacus Data’s team of research consultants and strategists, delivering strategic advice and research design expertise to some of Canada’s leading corporations, advocacy groups, and political leaders. David has more than a decade of experience working in the marketing research industry and is an industry leader in online research methodologies, public affairs research, corporate and organizational reputation studies, and youth research. He has led research projects for organizations in many sectors including pharmaceutical, transportation, financial services, educational, natural resource, telecommunications, media, arts and cultural, tourism, and retail.

Peter Berry
Partner at Welch LLP

Peter is an audit and accounting Partner and the firm’s construction and real estate industry group leader. He works with many real estate developers and commercial property managers and provides clients with an integrated approach to their accounting and tax needs, optimizing the big picture of a client situation. Peter also works with many family businesses in the area of succession and transition planning. As well as advising clients through estate planning and estate administration. After graduating from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters Diploma in Accounting, Peter joined Welch in 2010. He received his Chartered Accountant designation in 2011 and became a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in 2015.

Mike Brennan
CEO of Royal Architectural Institute of Canada

Mike Brennan brings 26 years of executive leadership and a proven track record of operational success in the not-for-profit sector as well as turnarounds in for-profit companies in North America. He holds a Master of Business from Carleton University in Ottawa and possesses a strong business acumen encompassing strategic planning, collaborative change management, and business process improvement. Throughout his career, he has focused on reducing operating costs and diversifying revenue streams while increasing performance and productivity. In addition to a solid business foundation, including in banking and manufacturing, Mike has an understanding of and commitment to the not-for-profit sector. His expertise takes in governance, fundraising, volunteers, advocacy, grant writing, stakeholder engagement and program implementation. He is currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.

Timothy Thomas
Partner at

Tim’s practice centres on negotiation and preparation of financing documentation – for financial institutions and borrowers, leasing matters, and commercial real estate development, including the sale, purchase and financing of commercial, industrial and residential properties. For 35 years, Tim has served the personal legal needs of his clients through the preparation of wills, powers of attorney, estate planning and administration. He also advises clients on business transactions, including sales acquisitions and financing. Financial transactions are complex, requiring not only a comprehensive understanding of relevant laws and regulations, but a continuing study of the ever-changing business environment. Small details, including timing, have significant long-term implications. The ability to act quickly and prudently is immensely valuable; Tim offers that efficiency and direction to his clients.
