Welch LLP to Ring in the New Year with Jim McConnery as Managing Partner

Welch LLP is pleased to announce JimMcConnery will assume the role of Managing Partner on January 1, 2021.

Jim joined Welch LLP in 1994 after graduating from the University of Ottawa, where he received a Bachelor of Commerce degree with honours in Finance. He received his CA designation in 1997. Jim was with a national accounting firm’s tax group for 10 years and returned to Welch LLP in 2007. He has led educational programs with CPA Canada and CPA Ontario and speaks on various tax planning topics. Jim’s client work includes a focus on private company / shareholder planning, which includes: transaction, succession and estate planning. Jim also provides cross-border planning assistance and guidance to high-net-worth clients.

Jim takes over for Micheal Burch, who has been at the helm since 2008. Though Micheal is retiring at the end of 2020, he will continue to play an active role in leading the Family Wealth Advisory Group.

Three Staff Promoted to Partner

Mona Tessier, Bryden McMaster, and Alessandro D’Angelo will become partners at Welch LLP effective January 1, 2021.

In more news, we thank Carole Lekadir and Mark Patry each for their 37 years at Welch LLP. Both retire at the end of 2020.
