Our client, a well-established fuel supplier, is looking for a Receptionist/AR Clerk with excellent business acumen to be part of their team.  This is an excellent opportunity to work within a local company that truly values the contributions of its staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answering telephone calls and directing callers to appropriate staff members
  • Answering general telephone inquiries and screening calls
  • Receive and open all paper work and sort to the correct place
    • Reconcile checkout sheet, sales summary report
    • File Drummond credit cards in basket
    • Checkout sheets and government credit cards to colleague
  • Provide price information for specific clients on delivery
  • Enter Drummond charges into accounting software and post
  • Enter Station sheets into Journal and post
  • Prepare monthly bills for stations & rentals (phone, rent, hydro, etc)
  • Back up and the preparation of pricing sheets daily
  • Support month end reconciliation
    • Review, enter and complete all station sheets prior to starting new month’s work
  • When all Drummond charges are entered, assist in emptying the filing drawers, stapling charges to go with statements, postage and mail preparation
  • File monthly the cash receipts (from cash registers) into boxes for storage
  • Prepare new file folders for the “station sheets” (daily summaries from the gas bars) for each new month

Qualifications

  • A minimum completion of secondary school (or related experience) in bookkeeping, accounting, or related field
  • 1-3 years of A/R or related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Exposure to Triple PC or other accounting software would be an asset (DOS based software)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others, manage time effectively, and prioritize responsibilities.
